A new air conditioner cannot cool a house if the air leaks into the attic. We find the duct problem before we sell equipment that will not fix it.
Valley attics cook. The flex duct that was fine at the walkthrough in March sags, kinks, and pulls off boots after a few summers. The outdoor unit is then blamed for a house that is leaking its cooling above the ceiling.
Southern Highlands and Anthem two-story homes, and the bonus rooms in newer Henderson houses, are where this shows up. We do not start with a full duct replacement. We find the run that failed. If the duct system is actually shot, we will say that and price the repair next to any equipment quote so you can see which job you are buying.
What we look for
- The system runs and one side of the house never cools
- Bedrooms with the door closed get stale
- A return that is a single hallway grille
- Flex duct crushed in the attic or fallen off a boot
