Where 89118 sits

ZIP 89118 is in southwest Las Vegas, west of Interstate 15. Most of it is unincorporated Clark County, across parts of the Spring Valley and Enterprise areas, so a permit for an equipment replacement goes through Clark County, not the City of Las Vegas. Our mailing address is in neighboring 89148; technicians come to the home.

AC repair in 89118

Short answer: NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for Harry Reid International Airport put the July average high at 104.5°F and the low at 82.0°F, so condensers on this side of I-15 run long cycles into the night. Most no-cool calls turn out to be a capacitor, contactor, airflow or a drain, not a new system. Diagnosis comes first. See AC repair in Las Vegas.

Checks before you call:

• Breaker on. If it trips again after one reset, leave it off. See AC tripping breaker.
• Water near the indoor unit? See AC leaking water.
• Running but not cooling? See AC running, not cooling.

Furnace and heat pump repair in 89118

Winter is short here but real. NOAA's normals put the January average low at the airport at 40.5°F, so furnaces and heat pumps run mostly on winter nights. A furnace that lights and then shuts off is often tripping a safety control. A heat pump that blows cool air may be in defrost. See furnace repair in Las Vegas and heat pump not heating.

If you smell gas, leave the house and call Southwest Gas or 911 from outside. Don't flip switches or try to relight anything.

Repair or replace

Age alone doesn't decide it. We look at the refrigerant, the cost of the repair, and whether the system has been a repeat problem, then explain the options in plain terms before any work starts. See repair or replace an old AC.

Before you call

Have the model and serial numbers from the outdoor unit and the furnace or air handler ready if you can, along with roughly how old the system is and what changed: a new noise, a smell, a breaker that trips, or a room that stopped keeping up. That helps us bring the right parts.
