Last updated: October 25, 2026 · Reviewed by Colton Air Conditioning, NV license 0092120
Short answer: as of October 25, 2026, two utility programs for southern Nevada homes are current on the utilities' own websites. NV Energy's 2026 Home Improvements Program covers duct sealing, duct insulation, and attic, wall and floor insulation. Southwest Gas's 2026–2028 Nevada Residential Incentives Program covers high-efficiency gas furnaces and whole-home tankless gas water heaters. Rebate amounts below are quoted from the utilities' own documents as checked on Oct 25, 2026. Amounts, rules and funding can change, so check the linked pages before you buy.
NV Energy: 2026 Home Improvements Program
- What it covers: duct sealing only, duct sealing plus duct insulation, attic insulation, wall insulation (exterior walls only), and floor insulation.
- Key requirements: the home must have whole-house electric cooling. Duct sealing needs before-and-after leakage readings (CFM), at least 10 linear feet of exposed duct in unconditioned space, and central AC paired with a ducted electric heater, heat pump or gas furnace serving 80% of the conditioned floor area. Documents must arrive within 180 days of completion.
- Amounts, quoted from NV Energy's 2026 Rebates and Requirements PDF (checked Oct 25, 2026): Duct Sealing Only: "$200 Duct Sealing Only" (1 per home). Duct Sealing and Insulation: "$300 Duct Sealing + Insulation" (1 per home). Attic Insulation: "$0.10 per SqFt." Wall Insulation: "$0.10 per SqFt." Floor Insulation: "$0.10 per SqFt." The PDF adds that a customer rebate "cannot exceed the purchase price."
- Work is done by participating contractors. NV Energy publishes a Southern Nevada list.

Southwest Gas: 2026–2028 Nevada Residential Incentives Program
- What it covers (southern Nevada): Tier 1 furnaces (95.1–96.9% AFUE), Tier 2 furnaces (greater than 97% AFUE), and ENERGY STAR whole-home tankless gas water heaters with a UEF of 0.90 or higher. The window rebate is for Northern Nevada only.
- Amounts, quoted from the Southwest Gas NV Residential Rebate Application, rev. 09/2026 (checked Oct 25, 2026): Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater, Whole Home: "$175 / unit". Tier 1 Furnace (95.1%-96.9% AFUE): "$375 / unit". Tier 2 Furnace (>97% AFUE): "$475 / unit".
- Key requirements: an active Southwest Gas residential account at the install address. The product must be new and installed within the program year (Jan 1–Dec 31). Use only one submission method. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by January 31 after the program year. The receipt must itemize the model, serial number and efficiency. Funds are first-come, first-served.

Not listed here, and why
NV Energy's PowerShift smart thermostat page and other NV Energy program pages didn't load when we checked on Oct 25, 2026, so we couldn't confirm their current terms. They're left out until they're verified. Ask NV Energy directly.
Efficiency steps that pair with these rebates
- Seal the ducts first. Leaky attic ducts in a Las Vegas summer waste cooling and pull in dust. ENERGY STAR estimates a typical duct system loses about 20 to 30 percent of its air (ENERGY STAR). See ductwork problems.
- Then insulate the attic. NV Energy's attic rebate requires a final level of R-49 or higher.
- Size the replacement to the improved house. After sealing and insulating, a new load calculation may call for a different size. See what a professional install includes.
- Furnace replacement: if you're replacing a gas furnace, ask whether the model is on Southwest Gas's qualifying list before you sign. See furnace replacement.
