A new thermostat will not fix a bad capacitor. When the control really is the problem — or the old one cannot run a new system — we install and configure it correctly.
The wrong thermostat setup is how a perfectly good heat pump ends up on electric strips all winter. We confirm what the equipment is before we wire anything.
If you already bought a thermostat, bring it. If it is the wrong model for the system, we would rather tell you that than make it “work” badly.
