Reviewed by Colton Air Conditioning, NV license 0092120 Amana inverter systems that use Daikin's ComfortBridge controls have the indoor and outdoor units talking to each other over a two-way digital link. When something goes wrong, the control board shows a code on its seven-segment display. The same codes can be read in the CoolCloud HVAC app.
How Amana stores fault codes
Per Amana's service manual for the ASZV9 inverter heat pump, the six most recent faults can be read from the control board display or the CoolCloud app. A fault that repeats back to back is stored at most three times. The fault list can be cleared after the system is serviced.

| 77 | Indoor unit to thermostat communication error | Communication between the indoor unit and the thermostat |
Amana's own example: a leak, a low refrigerant charge or a stop valve that isn't fully open can cause the unit to flash E15. Finding and fixing a leak and setting the charge are EPA-certified refrigerant jobs.
What you can safely do
- Write down the code exactly as the board or the CoolCloud app shows it, including whether it starts with E, b or d.
- Don't open the outdoor unit's electrical panel. Inverter units hold stored voltage.
- If you have a gas furnace and smell gas, leave the house and call Southwest Gas or 911 from outside.
